The Melio Payouts API lets partners onboard business entities, attach funding sources and payee accounts, and execute domestic payments via ACH, paper check, domestic wire, and virtual card — all through a single REST API served at https://api.melio.com/v2.

How it works

The Melio Payouts API follows a simple three-step model:
1

Onboard an entity

Create a business entity with the required KYC fields (legal name, tax info, owner details). Melio screens the entity before it can send payments.
2

Attach accounts

Add an internal funding source (the debit account) and one or more external delivery methods (the payees). Supported rails: ACH, card, paper check, domestic wire, and virtual card.
3

Create a payment

Submit a payment with an amount, deduction date, and delivery preference. Melio schedules the transfer and fires webhooks as it progresses through the lifecycle.
